  • Update on the Introduction of the Scout STEM Badge in Nigeria

Update on the Introduction of the Scout STEM Badge in Nigeria I am John Ikidi, an Examiner for the Scouts STEM Badge in Nigeria, It is with great honor and excitement that I share with you the progress of the Scout STEM Badge initiative in Nigeria, as well as the incredible support and vision it has inspired on a global scale. Following our proposal to introduce the Scout STEM Badge in, the project has gained significant momentum. I’m thrilled to announce that the initiative has been successfully launched across Nigeria and is being adopted in neighboring countries. This program is spearheaded by the Bright Minds Foundation and aligns with our commitment to empowering young people with essential STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills to drive innovation and global impact. Global Recognition and Support: During this initiative’s launch, Mr. David Berg, Ad-Interim Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), welcomed the idea with great enthusiasm. He emphasized the importance of adding more badges like the STEM Badge to address the evolving needs of Scouts and encouraged reforms that prioritize underserved Scouts in Africa. Additionally, Mr. Frederic Tutu Kama-Kama, Regional Director for Africa, underscored the critical role of cutting-edge technology in strengthening global collaboration. He highlighted how initiatives like the Scout STEM Badge can pave the way for greater unity among Scouts worldwide while fostering meaningful learning experiences. Project Highlights and Success Stories: • More STEM, Less Social Media: The program emphasizes shifting young minds from harmful social media distractions to innovation and problem-solving, directly contributing to UN SDG 4 (Quality Education) by ensuring inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all. • Inspiring the Next Generation: UMMA SALMA, a Girl Scout leader, has mentored children of Breadshop customers to develop world-first IoT STEM projects using runlinc technology. These projects have led to success in competitions, scholarships, and job placements. • Cutting-Edge Demonstration: First-Class Electrical Engineering graduate Abdul Jimoh showcased the runlinc Hakka Technology, where he replaced 542 lines of difficult C++ coding with just 16 lines of easy coding to create an IoT Chicken Feeder. His innovation highlights how runlinc reduces complexity, saving time and resources. Why This Matters: This world-first initiative introduces Scouts to the groundbreaking possibilities of satellite IoT STEM technology, fostering critical thinking and equipping them to tackle global challenges like climate change and disaster response. Through hands-on experience with the runlinc Myriota satellite IoT STEM Badge, Scouts are gaining skills that prepare them to: • Develop IoT solutions for real-world challenges. • Participate in cultural exchange through global collaboration. • Build a sustainable and innovative future. Call to Action: This is a multicultural and global initiative that democratizes access to STEM education and technology. However, its success depends on the collective support of educators, sponsors, and STEM advocates. We invite you to join us in scaling this transformative program, empowering Scouts to become the problem-solvers and leaders of tomorrow. Together, let us champion the vision of “More STEM, Less Social Media” and create a brighter, smarter, and more sustainable future for Scouts worldwide. Thank you for your continued support. Yours in Scouting, John Ikidi

In a world that grows increasingly connected, a bold initiative called ASR (Allied Synergy for Resilience) emerged, uniting four nations under one ambitious goal: to inspire and empower communities across continents. Each node in the ASR network held a unique purpose and strength, woven together to build a future of collaboration and shared progress. 1. ASR Australia (NOVAFAST) At the heart of innovation, ASR Australia led the charge with ground-breaking industrial solutions. NOVAFAST became a symbol of ingenuity, driving progress in engineering and technology to address global challenges. Their work inspired others in the ASR network to embrace resilience and sustainability. 2. ASR Malaysia (T7) In Malaysia, ASR partnered with T7, a leader in advanced technologies and education. Together, they cultivated a hub for nurturing innovation, emphasizing the power of knowledge and research to uplift society. This connection strengthened bonds with other ASR chapters by promoting the exchange of ideas. 3. ASR Nigeria ASR Nigeria represented the dynamic energy of Africa, harnessing the continent’s immense potential. They served as the heartbeat of the network, fostering grassroots initiatives, entrepreneurial ventures, and community-based programs. Their vision of unity inspired others to see strength in diversity. 4. ASR Uganda (Cavendish University) In Uganda, ASR joined forces with Cavendish University to invest in the next generation of leaders. They championed education as the key to unlocking untapped potential, providing tools for empowerment and societal transformation. This partnership underscored the importance of knowledge-sharing within the ASR family. ASR Uganda 🇺🇬 is the First in Africa to implement World First runlinc Myriota satellite 🛰️ IoT for STEM students. The Interconnected Bonds The thick lines connecting ASR Australia to ASR Malaysia and ASR Nigeria to ASR Uganda symbolized deep collaboration and shared goals. The dotted lines represented the aspirations and ongoing efforts to bridge the remaining gaps. Together, these connections created a resilient network, proving that no challenge was insurmountable when nations unite. The Vision Forward Through partnerships like these, ASR became a beacon of hope for the world. It showed that when communities prioritize mutual respect, education, and innovation, they could create sustainable futures for everyone. Their story continues, reminding us that greatness is achieved not in isolation but in the strength of collective efforts. And so, ASR forged ahead, proving that the world is always better when we work together.
